Antique Chatelaine purse circa. 1880 Marked on the inside "France" and "real gun metal". Suspended from a gunmetal chain that is from the 1980's and is new/old stock. Made in the 19080's but never worn or sold
The contemporary gunmetal chain is 33 inches long with various stations. It simply slips over your head.
The purse from the 1880's measures 3 inches in height, 2 1/4 inches wide, and 1/4 inch deep when closed. Weight of the necklace is 49.5 g. 31.8 dwt
